Room101 Farce Shipping Nationally

The first Room101 cigar to be released since the Matt Booth parted ways with Davidoff of Geneva USA is now on its way to retailers across the country.

The Room101 Farce has been on a handful of retail shelves since Booth launched the cigar in Arizona in late February, though those came with pre-release bands, some of which bore the name of the store carrying them. While he had intended to have them shipping in late March or early April, that came and went with no cigars. When asked about the delay, Booth simply said “well, I guess we f****d that up, didn’t we?”

The first batch of cigars began shipping last week to stores who had pre-release events, while orders to other retailers began shipping this week. Booth didn’t offer any specifics about the delay, though he told halfwheel that “things of this nature can not be rushed, but we got it out to the folks of America in a timely fashion with no unnecessary delay.”

Farce uses an Ecuadorian wrapper over an Indonesian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Pennsylvania, with production handled by Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic. That factory is a frequent producer of Caldwell cigars, whom Booth has worked and collaborated with on several projects recently.

The Room101 Farce is being offered in five sizes, four of which are regular production with one limited to events:

• Room101 Farce Gordo (6 1/2 x 60) — $12.90 (Boxes of 20, $258)
• Room101 Farce Lonsdale (6 1/2 x 42) — $10.50 (Boxes of 20, $210)
• Room101 Farce Papi Chulo (4 x 42) —  $7.50 (Boxes of 20, $150; event-only, not pictured)

The line is being distributed by Down and Back, LLC, Caldwell’s distribution company.
