If you’ve ever wondered what the Aquitaine EMH Frenchy would smoke like in a corona gorda, you’ll be able to find out next week.

On Monday, Nov. 11, RoMa Craft Tobac will begin shipping the CRAFT Maquette Mon Chéri. It’s a 5 3/4 x 46 version of the Aquitaine EMH Frenchy, which is made in a 5 x 56 robusto gordo vitola. Frenchy is a barberpole version of the Aquitaine line, meaning it has two wrapper leaves that are rolled together at an angle to produce a spiral pattern similar to a barber’s pole.

The main wrapper is Ecuadorian Connecticut and the accents are Ecuadorian habano. The Aquitaine blend uses Nicaraguan tobaccos from Condega, Estelí and Pueblo Nuevo for the filler. This is the original CroMagnon filler blend, not the updated-for-2024 blend that CroMagnon now uses.

It will have an MSRP of $12 per cigar and is limited to 650 bundles of 10 cigars. Michael Rosales, co-founder of RoMa Craft Tobac, told halfwheel that the bundles will be allocated to retailers based year-to-date sales of Aquitaine.

Mon Chéri is French for my darling and also the name of a popular candy. Last year, RoMa Craft released the Frenchy, named after John D’Oliver, who, at the time, worked for the company.

The release is part of the CRAFT Maquette Series, which includes limited editions of various blends.
