There are two prominent types of Brazilian tobaccos used for cigar wrappers: Arapiraca and mata fina. Later this year, RoMa Craft Tobac will release a cigar that features both on the same cigar.
The Wunder|Lust Keyser Söze is a 5 x 52 robusto that will use a barberpole design, meaning it will feature two wrappers intertwined together to create an alternating pattern, that adds a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper to the standard Wunder|Lust blend, which uses a Brazilian mata fina wrapper. Underneath that is an Indonesian binder and an undisclosed filler blend.
It will have a suggested price of €9 ($9.17) per cigar in Germany and is limited to 300 boxes of 20 cigars. Skip Martin, co-founder of RoMa Craft Tobac, told halfwheel the cigars are likely to be on shelves in October.
Wunder|Lust was announced in 2016 as a European-exclusive brand though some of the seven sizes have been released to U.S. retailers in limited quantities. Keyser Söze will be an exclusive to August Schuster GmbH & Co. KG, RoMa Craft’s European distributor.
Keyser Söze is the name of a fictitious crime lord in The Usual Suspects, a 1995 film that won multiple Academy Awards.
