There’s a new Rocky Patel Vintage line debuting this year, this time from Nicaragua.

It’s called the Vintage 2006 San Andreas, yes San Andreas, not San Andrés. It uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Connecticut broadleaf binder and Nicaraguan fillers. It will be offered in four sizes:

  • Rocky Patel Vintage 2006 San Andreas Robusto (5 1/2 x 50) — $9.55 (Boxes of 20, $191)
  • Rocky Patel Vintage 2006 San Andreas Toro (6 1/2 x 52) — $10.10 (Boxes of 20, $202)
  • Rocky Patel Vintage 2006 San Andreas Churchill (7 x 48) — $10.10 (Boxes of 20, $202)
  • Rocky Patel Vintage 2006 San Andreas Sixty (6 x 60) — $11.75 (Boxes of 20, $235)

This is the first time the cigar is being made outside of Honduras, as production is being handled at the company’s Tabacalera Villa Cuba S.A. (TAVICUSA) factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.

“The Vintage 2006 will be the perfect companion brand to the Vintage Series,” said Patel in a press release. “It may be the youngest among the siblings, but it delivers with robust flavor and power.”

The name is a bit odd as San Andreas is a place in California, best known for a Grand Theft Auto video game and the San Andreas fault. San Andrés is in southern Mexico, over 1,500 miles away.

It will debut at the 2017 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, which begins on July 11, and begin shipping in August.
