Robbie Streitz has announced that he has resigned from his role at PDR Cigars, effective immediately.

Streitz joined PDR Cigars in May 2015 as the national sales manger, though approximately four months ago, Abe Flores made changes to the sales structure in his company and as a result, Streitz moved to a regional sales representative position while helping with key accounts.

In an email sent to customers on Monday afternoon, Streitz said that “although my time at PDR was a positive overall experience within the last year different ideologies it was time for a separation.”

Previously, Streitz spent time with A.J. Fernandez, Blanco Cigars, and Esteban Carreras in similar roles.

Flores told halfwheel that he considers Streitz a friend and appreciates the time that he spent with the company in both the national sales manager role as well as in his regional role. As part of the internal reorganization, Flores will be overseeing sales himself by utilizing a team of brokers and will not be filling the national sales manager position.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
