Effective April 30, Quesada will no longer handle U.S. distribution of Regius.

Quesada picked up distribution of Regius in mid-2012. At that time, the brand had an international presence, but was relatively unheard of in the U.S.

“We are sad to see this partnership end,” said Akhil Kapacee, founder of Regius, in a press release. “Personally, I am always thankful to Manuel Quesada and the Quesada family, Terence Reilly, Gladys and Juan in Miami who have worked very hard.”

In addition to distribution, Quesada also produced the Regius White Label line, though Terence Reilly, general manager of Quesada Cigars, told halfwheel that Quesada is no longer producing the line.

“We at Quesada are very proud of the massive growth of the Regius brand since the time we took over distribution and we wish Akhil the best of luck as he takes Regius in a new direction,” said Reilly in a press release.

Update — This story originally quoted a press release that indicated Regius would be using Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co.’s warehouse in the future. That information is not correct.
