Another new Edición Regional from Habanos S.A. is due in stores this month; this time it’s the Ramón Allones Hermitage, which is being made for the Russian market.

The cigar measures 5 1/2 inches (140mm) with a 52 ring gauge, a well-known robusto extra vitola that has the factory name Genios. It is a size shared with the Cohiba Genios, which is part of the brand’s Linea Maduro, as well as the H. Upmann Connossieur A, a Habanos Specialist Exclusive release from 2013.

It has also been used in a pair of Edición Regional releases, the La Gloria Cubana Belux No.1 for Belgium and Luxembourg in 2011, and the Ramón Allones Sur, which was created for Lebanon in 2014.

Each box contains 10 cigars and is priced at 21,000 rubles, or roughly US $360.71. Production numbers have not yet been confirmed, as emails to Top Cigars Corporation, the exclusive distributor of Habanos S.A. products in the country, have gone unanswered.

According to a Facebook post by the La Casa del Habano in St. Petersburg, the cigar is due to arrive in November, though no specific date was announced. The cigar got its first unveiling at a Sept. 14 event in St. Petersburg.

This will be the second Edición Regional for Russia, joining the Bolívar Emperador, a 6 1/5 x 48 grand corona released in 2011. For that production, 2,500 individually numbered boxes of 10 cigars were produced.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
