Phoenicia T.A.A. Cyprus Ltd. has announced the details for its 40th anniversary cigar—and of no surprise, it will be a Ramón Allones.
The Middle Eastern distributor of Cuban cigars celebrated its 30th, 32nd and 35th anniversaries and has received other Edición Regionals from the marca before. According to Cigar Journal, the cigar will be a 6 1/2 (164mm) x 54 toro extra, known as the Sublimes size. It will be an extremely large release for an Edición Regional with 450,000 cigars split between boxes of 20 and Elie Bleu humidors of 40 cigars.
It’s unclear when the cigar will come out. Phoenicia says the blend was recently selected, but the company was founded in 1978, meaning the 40th anniversary was technically last year. The 30th and 32nd anniversary cigars came out on time, but the 35th didn’t show up until 2016.
To add to the celebration of occasion, four lines of 100 humidors containing 40 cigars each will be produced, dubbed Phoenicians, Mediterranean, Volutes and Horizon. A fifth line called Journey will have a production of 40 humidors of 40 cigars. All humidors are being produced by Elie Bleu, the French maker of high end humidors. The other cigars will come in boxes of 20.
