Last week at the annual Procigar festival, Quesada showed off its 40th Anniversary release, the Q40. While the company is still declining to disclose details, the cigar will come in at least three box-pressed sizes: Robusto, Toro Press and Salomon Press.

The Salomon Press got almost all the attention last week as the cigar is box-pressed in the center while bulbous on both the foot and head. While this is not the first cigar to be both round and box-pressed, this particular shape has almost certainly never been used before.

This is the latest anniversary cigar from Quesada which also released special cigars for its 30th and 35th anniversaries.

In June of 1974, Manuel “Manolo” Quesada Jr. established MATASA, a Dominican-based operation that manufactured cigars for Antillian Cigars, better known as Sosa. Earlier this year, the company announced it would be doing business solely under the Quesada Cigars name.
