For the last three years, Quesada has created a limited size of its popular Selección España line that it releases to a dozen retailers, one box per month.

This year the concept is back, but with one notable change. This year’s size is the A-, an 8 1/2 x 48 parejo. Quesada chose A- to indicate that it was slightly shorter than a typical A, which traditionally measures 9 1/4 x 47. The change comes in box counts, which are 10 instead of the 50- and 100-count cabinets of the last three years.

Quesada will ship each retailer 10 boxes per month, meaning each retailer will receive 100 total cigars, the same as they did with this year’s special release, the Petit Belicoso.

This is the 11th size for the España line, which debuted in 2011.

It uses an Ecuadorian arapiraca wrapper, Dominican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

The first retailer chosen will be Just For Him of Springfield, Mo., the same shop that has received the first box of each of the last three releases. After that, Quesada will select a new retailer each month.

Suggested retail pricing of the España A is $9.99 per cigar.
