Quality Importers Trading Co. has acquired yet another cigar accessory company. This time, it’s Cigar Mechanic, a company that made bead-based humidity products.

The deal was largely for the Cigar Mechanic name, which Quality Importers plans on turning into more than just a humidification product line.

“(We are going to) create the Cigar Mechanic brand around a full line of diversified products and make it a coordinated full product line instead of just a specific humidification brand,” said Michael Giordano, Quality Importer’s owner, to halfwheel.

The plan will be to offer other accessories branded as Cigar Mechanic. Quality Importers has large portfolio of cigar accessory brands including Cigar Caddy travel humidors, Palió cigar cutters, Stinky ashtrays and others.

Michael Cellucci, Quality Importers’ new president and coo, is helping to oversee the ground up makeover of Cigar Mechanic. Cellucci previously served as the president of Drew Estate, which once distributed Cigar Mechanic.

Eric Budman started Cigar Mechanic in 2007.
