The latest vitola for the Cuban Punch marca will launch this July in Zurich, Switzerland.

The distributor for the region, Intertabak A.G. has announced that it will be hosting a launch event on Fri, July 12 at the Hotel Storchen in the city’s old town neighborhood. The event will have a 19th century theme, a nod to when the Punch magazine was at its most prominent, and from which the brand gets its name, having been created in 1840.

The new vitola, which was announced at this years’s Festival del Habano, measures 4 3/4 inches long and has a 50 ring, a new vitola for the company.
They will come in 10-count plain, unvarnished wood boxes, known as a semi boîte nature presentation. What is not yet known is the pricing for the cigars, or when it will be available on a widespread basis. As launches such as this have become more common in recent years, sometimes the cigars are available within days after the event, while other times it can be several months until they finally arrive at retailers both in the launch market as in other markets around the world.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
