PSyKo SEVEN Nicaragua Launching Next Month

Ventura Cigar Co.’s partnership with Indiana Ortez is now extending to the brand’s PSyKo SEVEN family.

The cigar, which is made at the Ortez family factory in Condega, Nicaragua, as aptly called PSyKo SEVEN Nicaragua. It uses a Nicaragua desflorado wrapper from 2007 over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers from Condega, Estelí and Jalapa.

Desflorado is a process where the flower is removed from the tobacco plant in order to ensure as many nutrients as possible will go to the tobacco leaves. Most farmers choose to do this with the majority of their plants unless those plants are specified to be used for seed collection for the next crop.

“Whenever you want to create a new blend, you need to depend on your intuition,” says Ortez in a press release. “It’s like a recipe- you can’t force making something that’s truly great. If you enjoy the process as you go through it, your intuition will guide you.”
