Providencia Cigars will have a new event-only 5 1/2 x 52 box-pressed torpedo, but it won’t be called Meritage.

The company has confirmed that it will not use the Meritage name as Humicon, LLC owns the trademark for Meritage. A new name has not been chosen.

Over a week ago, the company announced plans for the new event-only cigars, which is actually infused with red wine. Providencia says it stores the tobacco leaves inside a humidor with Honduran red wine, allowing for the wine flavors to be infused into the cigar.

As for the blend, it uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.

The Meritage name is used for the Foyle Meritage.
