Cubariqueño Cigar Company is bringing back a limited edition vitola and releasing it to retailers across the country as a regular production size.

On Wednesday the company announced that the Protocol Themis Corona Gorda, which debuted in Sept. 2018 as an exclusive size for Famous Smoke Shop in Easton, Pa., would now be available to all of the company’s retail accounts, with shipping slated to begin immediately after the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, which runs from June 28 – July 2.

The size measures 5 5/8 x 46 and is offered in 10-count boxes priced at $99.40, or $9.94 per cigar. The company has also produced the line in three other sizes, Toro (6 x 52), Robusto (5 x 52) and Lancero (7 1/2 x 38).

The Themis line uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a Nicaraguan-grown binder and filler. It is produced at La Zona Cigar Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua and debuted in 2017.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
