June 12, 2013 (Hoboken, N.J.) – From the mile square city located on the banks of the Hudson River, best known as the birthplace of legendary singer Frank Sinatra, the Home of Baseball, and the landmark culinary establishment of Carlo’s Bakery comes the greatest occurrence to happen to premium cigars since European sailors first observed the native Taínos smoking rolled tobacco leafs over five centuries ago – the official launch of Manolo Estate Handmade Cigars in July 2013. The release of Manolo Estate Handmade Cigars marks the cigar team of Luis Gutiérrez and Juan Carlos Rojas’ first foray into the cigar industry after their initial role as purveyors of fine premium cigars at their tobacconist shop, Ash located at 203 Washington Street in Hoboken, NJ. While their passion initially drove them to selling premium cigars, the two partners always knew it would take more to satisfy their quest for the best.

After a long and spirited smoke-filled journey in pursuit of the world’s greatest cigars, co-founders Luis Gutiérrez and Juan Carlos Rojas have navigated from the deepest recesses of their collective childhood memories of the enchanting aroma of Cuban cigars, across the Caribbean Sea to their native island of Cuba, through Esteli, Nicaragua, and ending with a final sojourn in Tamboril, Domincan Repúblic to finally create a master blend that is worthy of the legacy of Manolo Estate Handmade Cigars.

Proudly named after both Juan Carlos Rojas’ father Manuel “Manolo” Rojas and Luis Gutiérrez’s great-grandfather Don Manuel “Manolo” Gutiérrez, the birth of this new line pays homage to the time honored Cuban craftsmanship of both their families’ having hand-rolled premium cigars for more than three generations. Manolo Estate Handmade Cigars blends together their families’ time honored traditions with the nuances of carefully crafted experimentation and inspired innovation honed in some of the best modern day tobacco growing regions in the world.

Co-Founder Rojas described the line by saying, “Manolos are made with only the most avid cigar smokers in mind and are not intended for the meek in palate. Each blend packs a flavorful punch, from sweet medium bodied notes of espresso and raw sugar cane to the full-bodied notes of dark island rum with a light peppery accent.” Gutiérrez added, “When it comes to Manolos we aimed to imbue each blend with only the best materia prima from around the world so that each individual smoke provides a lasting experience that only a true top contender can offer.”

The new Manolo Estate line will be available staring this July 4th. Retail price for the new Manolos will range between $8 and $10 dollars.
