August 7, 2012 (Miami, FL) – On August 2nd, Drew Estate announced two simultaneous promotions within its executive team to enhance and expand the management of its growing organization. Michael Cellucci has been promoted to the President position and Steve Saka has been named as the Chief Executive Officer of Drew Estate.

“Even during the ongoing recession, Drew Estate has been experiencing high double digit growth and has now become the manufacturer of over 90,000 handmade, premium cigars daily, the employer of nearly 1,300 people worldwide and the distributor of many of today’s best and fastest growing brands,” shares Drew Estate’s Owner and Cofounder, Marvin Samel. He continues, “The company is aggressively entering new markets both domestically and internationally in a variety of market categories, in the process of building a state of the art +50,000 sq ft. tobacco processing facility in Nicaragua and is the design phase to build an entirely new factory in order to accommodate demand. Due to the company’s current and expected growth, a shift in the executive team makeup is needed to best serve our ever-growing management needs. Michael and Steve have both been key parts of our team and Jonathan and I are very confident that they are the best men to help lead Drew Estate to continued success.”

Michael Cellucci has been promoted to President of Drew Estate and will be assuming the executive responsibility for the day-to-day operations in the company’s US affairs of both Drew Estate Holdings LLC and Half A Sandwich LLC and spearhead the company’s entrance into new markets and product segments. Cellucci joined the company in early 2000 and was promoted to Inside Sales Director within his first year, then to National Sales Director in 2003, then to VP of Business Development in 2005 and then again to VP of Sales in 2007.

Steve Saka has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Drew Estate and will continue to serve in his key position on the executive board while devoting more of his attentions to the operation of Drew Estate’s tobacco and premium handmade cigar development and operations in Nicaragua and elsewhere. He was named the President of Drew Estate in July 2005 after his tenure as an executive consultant at JR Cigar and has served in this role until this promotion. Saka is regarded as an industry-leading expert in handmade cigars.

Jonathan Drew, Drew Estate’s Owner, Co-Founder and Master Cigar Maker, adds “These are two of the smartest guys I know, both are honest, knock-around guys that embody the ethos of Drew Estate’s ‘team work wins’ mentality and to be standard bearers for our company’s ‘The Rebirth of Cigars’ mantra. Together they are like the perfect tag team to keep us on point and kicking ass.”

These executive promotion are effective immediately and were formally announced at this year’s annual International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers tradeshow in Orlando, Florida this August 3rd thru 6th, 2012

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
