Pospiech, Inc.—the distribution company that is owned by the same brothers who own Powstanie and Cigar Hustler—will ship the Powstanie Wojtek 2021 this week. This year’s version is a 6 x 52 box-pressed toro that has a barberpole-style appearance thanks to its two wrappers: habano from Ecuador and Mexican San Andrés leaves. Underneath is Indonesian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

It has an MSRP of $13.40 and is limited to 500 boxes of 21 cigars.

Wojtek is a reference to a famous Syrian brown bear that was purchased as a young cub by Polish soldiers. The bear was enlisted in the Polish army and eventually learned how to carry ammo during World War II. Powstanie is Polish for “rise” or “uprising.”

This is the third consecutive year Powstanie has released a Wojtek cigar, each has been limited and each a different vitola.
