There’s a new Cuban Edición Regional on the shelves of cigar shops in the Netherlands, as the Por Larrañaga Gran Robusto has been delivered to retailers.

The new cigar is a double robusto that measures 6 3/10 x 50, a vitola known as the Magnum 50 that is shared with several other cigars, including the regular production H.Upmann Magnum 50, as well as the Partagás Selección Privada Edición Limitada, a 2014 release, and the La Gloria Cubana Triunfos, an Edición Regional that was released to Switzerland in 2010.

A total of 10,000 boxes of 10 cigars have been ordered by Cubacigar Benelux N.V., the exclusive distributor of Habanos S.A. products in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Each box is priced at €152, approximately $178.

While it’s an Edición Regional for the Netherlands, the cigar has also been spotted in Belgium, which together with the Netherlands and Luxembourg form the Benelux region, which has received several Edición Regionals as well.

It’s the first Edición Regional release for the Por Larrañaga marca since the 2015 batch, when the Por Larrañaga Opera was created for France, though it arrived at stores in 2016.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
