Peter James Leather Co., a Canadian company that specializes in leather cigar cases, has announced its newest and most high-end series.

The Peter James Black Label Collection is a new zippered leather cigar case made in Italy. It’s made in Italy using Saffiano leather, which is noted for its ability to repel both water and resist scratches. The inside is made of lamb skin, a softer material. There’s a cigar compartment that can hold five cigars, as well as pockets designed to hold a lighter, a cutter as well as a larger storage pocket. The case is designed to be used with a 60-gram Boveda pack, which is placed in a slot behind the cigar storage area.

When closed, the case measures 9.5 inches x 5.5 x 1.75; it expands to 12.5 inches when fully opened.

The MSRP is set at $999.99 per case. For context, the company’s standard Blue Line cases are priced at around $350. Five colors are offered: Black, Forest Green, Navy Blue, Tan, and Tiffany Blue.

“Each piece takes over sixty hours to produce by artisans with over forty years of experience,” said John Peter Laurendi, founder of Peter James, in an email to halfwheel. “These cigar organizers have set our highest bar to date by combining a luxury feel with the functionality of a softshell carry humidor. Each piece can maintain humidity for up to forty-nine days with a sixty-gram, 75% RH Boveda pack. This exclusive collection is a testament to the Peter James Co. ethos, utilizing some of the finest materials and craftsmanship, the BLC is sure to be a welcomed addition to any everyday carry kit for the contemporary aficionado seeking style and humidity control.”

The cases are available both directly from Peter James as well as through its retailers.
