PDR Cigars will be adding an extension to its Small Batch Reserve series at this month’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, as the Dominican cigar maker has announced a new line called Wicked Pugs.
The blend uses a Brazilian Cubra wrapper that will be available in both a natural rosado version or a maduro offering. Underneath sits a Dominican criollo ’98 binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Three sizes are slated for the debut, all of which share a pigtail cap, perfecto vitola and a 60 ring gauge. The No. 1 will be a 4 x 60, the No. 2 a 5 x 60 and the No. 3 at 6 x 60. Each size will come in 12-count boxes with single stick MSRPs between $9 and $12.
News of the new release was first reported in Cigar Insider. PDR Cigars has not replied to a request for comment on the line or confirmation about the details reported.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
