PDR Cigars to Unveil AFR-75 Claro at 2016 IPCPR

PDR Cigars will be releasing a new extension to its AFR-75 line at the 2016 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show next week, the AFR-75 Claro.

The new line still uses a Mexican San Andrés leaf, though a lighter shade compared to what is on the original AFR-75. The cigar also uses a Nicaraguan criollo 98 binder with a blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan and U.S. Connecticut broadleaf fillers. It has been reported to be offered in four sizes by Cigar Aficionado, Catador (4 x 54, $13.75), Sublime (5 x 56, $14.75), Edmundo (6 x 58, $15.75) and Immenso (7 x 60, $16.75). Each size comes in 24-count boxes and is produced at PDR Cigars’ factory in the Dominican Republic.

The original AFR-75 line is also reported to be adding the Catador size while updating its packaging to match the AFR-75 Claro, a black-and-white box with several rows of boxes on either side of the logo, a look that is very similar to the Cohiba BHK boxes.

PDR Cigars has not replied to requests for comment and more information about the AFR-75 Claro and new size of the AFR-75 Maduro, or to confirm the accuracy of other reports.
