By the end of October, there will be a second exclusive from PDR Cigars available at Binny’s Beverage Depot, The Fort, which comes under the Four Star Society header.

The cigar uses a Dominican corojo wrapper and binder, with the filler details undisclosed. It will be available in a 5 x 54 robusto vitola, with pricing said to be between $6-7, similar to the line’s initial release in February, which was simply known as The Four Star Society. The line gets its name from Chicago’s famous flag which features four stars, and which forms the central element of the label that will come on the bundles.

The Four Star Society is an offshoot of the company’s Union Star by A&R line, which was started as a way to sell cigars that had been sitting in the company’s aging room. That line has had just one release so far, Bullet With A Name Volume 1, but a follow-up was announced earlier this year though has yet to materialize.

The Fort will be available in 10-count, butcher paper-wrapped packs, with a total of 335 packs produced for Binny’s 41 locations in the Chicago area. The line is produced at PDR Cigars’ factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
