PCA 2022: Patina

Patina Cigars was once again part of the Sutliff booth as part of the distribution agreement between the two companies. If you have read previous coverage of Patina or brands such as Matilde, Casa Turrent, Los Caidos or others, you’ve likely seen the basic rundown of the booth, both in terms of how the individual brands are represented as well as Sutliff as a whole.

But if you haven’t, each individual company gets a bookcase on which to showcase its products, which means that the core line offerings generally fill the lower shelves and the new line(s) are on the higher shelves. While it might not be a ton of real estate, it seems that having a steady stream of retailers coming through the booth is a worthwhile tradeoff, as inevitably a retailer who isn’t carrying a certain brand will stop by for a look, which leads to an introduction and inevitably some new sales.

As for Patina, the company has its new Sumatra line on the top shelf, while a new robusto sampler pack sits below it. Both are brand new additions for the company, the former marking the fourth full line, while the latter sampler gives customers an easy way to try them all.

Patina Sumatra

The Patina portfolio continues to grow with its new Sumatra line, which Mo Maali says is a continuation of the company’s strategy to create unique core line offerings that are available on a continual basis to our retailers and consumers. It is offered in four lines, produced at the Nicaragua America Cigars S.A. (NACSA) factory, and will be heading to store shelves not long after the show wraps up.

Patina Sampler Pack

With four lines now, Maali thought it was time to offer a sampler pack for new and existing customers to experience those lines. Each humidified, resealable sampler bag contains the 5 x 52 Rustic vitola in the Patina Connecticut, Patina Habano, Patina Maduro and Patina Sumatra blends. They will begin shipping alongside the Sumatra line in the coming weeks, and should be arriving at stores not too long into August.
