NeverAsh is a fairly new cigar brand launched by Tom Grilli and his uncle Steve Rotondi in 2020.

This was the company’s first time exhibiting at the PCA Convention and Trade Show, and while the booth wasn’t overly large or complex, the branding was visible and left no question about who they were.

Produced at Tabacalera William Ventura, NeverAsh launched with five blends, each only made in a single vitola. They are primarily offered as direct-to-consumer sales through the company’s website but also carried at The Clayton in Chicago. The hope of Grilli and Rotondi was to expand their brick and motor presence by attending this year’s show and getting their cigars into the hands of more retailers. Upcoming things for the company include a lancero blend and another robusto that they will be traveling to the Dominican Republic to finalize the blends for in November.

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
