There are a number of booths that I look forward to visiting every year for various reasons: I enjoy catching up with the individuals from the company, the brand makes excellent cigars, or the booth is just easy to cover because they are so accommodating with information about their products.

Luckily for me, JRE Tobacco Co checks all three of those boxes.

I have never had anything but a pleasant visit with the Eiroa family at the JRE booth. They are genuinely kind, gracious individuals who always welcome me to their booth with a smile and are happy to take the time to show me all their new cigars. And speaking of new cigars, there are certainly plenty of new releases that they were eager to tell me about.

Aladino Cameroon Extensions

The first thing on our list is the additional sizes in the Aladino Cameroon line. Originally released at the beginning of 2020, the line started with three sizes, had a 7 x 38 Elegante added — which made our Top 25 list — and now this year an additional two sizes are being released.

  • Wrapper: Honduras (Cameroon)
  • Binder: Honduras
  • Filler: Honduras
  • Aladino Cameroon Gordo (6 1/2 x 60) — $11 (Box of 20, $220)
  • Aladino Cameroon Queens Perfecto (5 1/4 x 46) — $7.60 (Box of 20, $152)

Aladino Classic

This year, JRE wanted to bring out a line that wasn’t as Corojo-forward in the profile and as they described it, create a more classic cigar profile — thus the name Aladino Classic.

  • Wrapper: Honduras (Habano)
  • Binder: Honduras (Corojo)
  • Filler: Honduras (Corojo, Habano)
  • Aladino Classic Corona Classic (5 x 44) — $7 (Box of 20, $140)

Aladino Connecticut Gordo

Because of the demand for larger ring gauges, the Cameroon line isn’t the only one that got a Gordo size added.

  • Filler: Honduras
  • Aladino Connecticut Gordo (6 1/2 x 60) — $10 (Box of 20, $200)

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
