Founders Cigar Co. is utilizing the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show to release the company’s first candela-wrapped blend.

The new creation fits in well with Founders’ previous releases, all of which are named after specific men and women who had a hand in the creation of America as a country.

Although this is the first year that Founders has attended the PCA Convention & Trade Show, the veteran-owned company has a distinctive booth with a modern flair as well as plenty of seating.

Hamilton Candela

The regular production release is named after Alexander Hamilton, who is not only considered to be a “founding father” of the United States but also fought in the American Revolutionary War, had a hand in drafting the Constitution and served as the first secretary of the treasury for the United States of America. Recently, there was a musical about him or something.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
