My Father Cigars, Inc. updated its booth space to a more open concept that we’ve been seeing throughout the show floor this year, with a pair of display cases in the middle of the space, a desk for its administrative staff in one corner, and then tables spread throughout the space so that its representatives could meet with retailers. In one of those display cases was a new cigar that had a steady stream of people in front of it.

While My Father Cigars didn’t release any new brands this year, it did have a new cigar available for retailers attending the show to purchase: a new size in the Garcia & Garcia line.

My Father Garcia & Garcia Robusto Deluxe

My Father is one of a number of companies that are offering retailers who attend the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show an exclusive cigar, in this case, a robusto version of the Garcia & Garcia that came out in June 2016. The blend details are all the same, so other than the size, the most notable difference is the box; gone is the metal My Father logo from the lid. It has been replaced with a gold screen-printed version, much like you see on many of the company’s other boxes.

The company hasn’t finalized production numbers, though is estimating that about 2,500 boxes of 10 cigars will be produced based on orders placed at the show as well as the availability of the tobacco and the company’s production availability. That number could certainly change, but if you want a box, it would be best to think about locking one up sooner than later as once these are gone, they are gone.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
