I would imagine that for many attending the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show—retailers, media, other cigar companies—the Ferio Tego booth is pretty high up on the list of booths to visit. And yet, there’s no new product in the booth. That isn’t that uncommon, except that Ferio Tego is a new company. Well, sort of.

As you can see above, the Ferio Tego booth is labeled as a “finish your cigar lounge,” and it’s basically just a lounge. There are some comfortable chairs, tables, and a pagoda.

For those of you that don’t know Ferio Tego is a new company from Michael Herklots and Brendon Scott, both of whom previously worked at Nat Sherman International, the cigar and pipe division of Altria’s Nat Sherman. After Altria decided to shut down Nat Sherman, Herklots and Scott purchased the rights to the various Nat Sherman brands—Timeless, Metropolitan, Host, etc.—but not the Nat Sherman name itself.

Ferio Tego will bring back these cigars—same blend and more or less the same packaging—just without the Nat Sherman name. But first, the company will introduce a new brand called Ferio Tego.

To complicate matters a bit further, Davidoff of Geneva USA will distribute Ferio Tego, and Davidoff isn’t here. Despite Davidoff’s absence, Ferio Tego planned on actually writing orders at the trade show, but plans changed, and instead, it sounds like that will begin in late July.

As for the details about the Ferio Tego cigar, Herklots doesn’t want to talk about the cigar just yet; instead, he is waiting until things calm down a bit more, and the cigar can get a bit more attention than it ever could in a week like this one. It’s a smart strategy, even if it makes for a bit of an odd booth write-up.
