Patricia Quesada, a member of the Quesada family, has announced that she is no longer working at Quesada Cigars.

In a statement provided to halfwheel, she said that she would be focusing on her master’s degree and other opportunities in Madrid, where she lives:

After over 20 years in the cigar industry I have decided to leave Quesada Cigars for the time being to explore other ventures and to focus on my master’s degree. I will always be a member of the fifth generation of the Quesada family in the tobacco industry, and I will always be involved with the company one way or another. You never really walk away from your legacy, but for now I am looking forward to the new things life has in store for me.

Quesada is the daughter of Manuel “Manolo” Quesada Jr., the longtime public face in the company. Her most recent position with the company focused on international sales.

She is the third Quesada family member to resign from the company in the last 18 months following the departures of Terence Reilly and Hostos Fernández Quesada last year. All three are part of the company’s fifth generation of family members in the tobacco business.
