Santiago Valladares, a line that was introduced by Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co. as a European exclusive, is going to be offered to stores in America. Not only that, there’s a new size coming too.

During the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show later this week, the company will be showing off a 6 x 52 toro. The name, Santiago Valladares, was chosen as a way for Oscar Valladares to honor his son and leave a legacy in his name. The line debuted with three vitolas as a European market exclusive last year.

Each 6 x 52 toro will have an MSRP of $25, and the cigars will be packaged in individual coffins inside of black 10-count boxes. Only 2,000 boxes are being produced, for a total of 20,000 cigars.

In an email, Alvaro Villatoro, sales manager at Oscar Valladares, told halfwheel that boxes of the Santiago Valladares Toro are scheduled to begin shipping to stores in June.

I have worn many hats in my life up to this point: I started out as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, then transitioned to photographing weddings—both internationally and in the U.S.—for more than a decade. After realizing that there was a need for a cigar website containing better photographs and more in-depth information about each release, I founded my first cigar blog, SmokingStogie, in 2008. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars, and it was one of the predecessors to halfwheel, which I co-founded.
