Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co. has announced that it will implement a price increase at the start of February.
The company will increase the wholesale price of its entire portfolio by 7 percent, a move necessitated by what it said were rising costs in the production of its cigars. Specifically, the company cited rising costs for labor, tobacco, gas, and other raw materials, with a representative of the company telling halfwheel that “everything is more expensive in Honduras,” adding that the company opted to absorb some of the cost increases instead of simply passing them along to consumers.
The increases will go into effect on Feb. 1.
Cigar companies typically adjust their prices once per year, with most companies choosing to do so in the first quarter of the year. Below is a list of companies that have informed halfwheel whether or not they will have changes for Q1 2025.
