Earlier this week, Oliva indicated that the Cain F Lancero, a cigar that first debuted over a year, was finally shipping. While the cigar has been offered as part of STUDIO TOBAC event samplers and the STUDIO TOBAC Lancero Exclusive Collection, the much-anticipated ten-count box has been delayed because of production delays with the Tubos.

The Cain F Lancero has been widely regarded as one of Oliva’s better creations under the STUDIO TOBAC banner (we reviewed it here and here), but when we broke the news back in June of 2011 that they would be offered for sale, it was the price that became the notable part of the story. Oliva originally pegged the price around $65.00 per box, easily placing it amongst the most affordable Lanceros and far cheaper than most thought the cigar was going to be priced, but it appears even that might have been a bit high. Word from Oliva is that MSRP is $6.00, a sharp contrast to the $120.00 price point of the STUDIO TOBAC Lancero Exclusive Collection, which featured four Cain F Lanceros, four Cain Daytona Lanceros and a STUDIO TOBAC Culebra.

Oliva has not announced official production numbers, but this is said to be a limited release based off the orders they took at IPCPR 2011.

The cigars should begin arriving in retailers later this week. If you are looking for a box, all five of our sponsors should have boxes in stock in the near future. You can contact our site sponsors:
