The latest Oliva Serie V Maduro Especial is head to stores.

Every year since 2008, the company has created a limited edition version of its popular Serie V line with a maduro wrapper in a single size. Traditionally, the cigar has been released in October and that trend will once again continue this year.

The 2014 rendition is the thickest of the seven Serie V Maduros released to date, measuring 6 x 60 after Oliva abandoned plans to keep it at the same 5 x 54 double robusto size it sold last year. The basic blend details remain the same with Oliva once again using a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Nicaraguan fillers.

Pricing is set at $9.50 per cigar and it will be sold in boxes of 10. Just how many boxes will be released is a bit of a mystery. A representative from the company did indicate that it would be less than the 80,000 total cigars that were released last year, which is the biggest release the series has seen. From 2008-2012, the cigar was limited to 50,000 cigars.

The Serie V Maduro is made at Tabacalera Oliva de Nicaragua S.A. (TABOLISA) in Estelí, Nicaragua.
