Add Nomad Cigar Co. to the list of companies partaking in the what’s old is new again approach for the 2017 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show.

The company has announced that it will offer First Run, a two-size line that is actually leftover stock of the company’s debut Dominican Classic line. Those two sizes are the 4 5/8 x 54 figurado, known as Vagabond, and a 6 x 52 torpedo that was called Navigator.

Dominican Classic, then known as Nomad, was the company’s debut blend, released in 2012. It used an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican filler.

Pricing will remain the same as the original, the Nomad First Run 2012 Torpedo will be priced at $8.40 and the Figurado will be $7.90. Both cigars will come in boxes of 20, which Rewey said he has less than 200 on hand.

“The fact of the matter is that when I started I was not really clear on which sizes would work and which wouldn’t. That led to an overrun of two sizes in particular,” said Fred Rewey. “A round torpedo and a small perfecto. Recently I discovered that we had a limited amount from the original run and began smoking them. It seemed only appropriate to share these aged beauties.”

The 2017 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show begins July 11 in Las Vegas, Nev.
