Last week, SAG Imports, the distribution arm of the Quesada family’s cigar operation which also include Casa Magna, Fonseca and the newly-announced Tres Reynas, informed retailers of their IPCPR releases. In addition to the already-announced Oktoberfest, Tres Reynas and plans for the unveiling of the third and final size of Q d’Etat, SAG announced plans for expansions to Casa Magna, Domus Magnus and a new Jalapa.
As first reported by Frank Seltzer, Quesada’s popular Selección España will be receiving a U.S. release in the form of the Quesada Jalapa. Fittingly, the España’s Ecuadorian Ariparaca is replaced with the Nicaraguan wrapper, while the fillers remain the same. Three sizes will each receive 1,000 boxes:
- Belicoso (6 1/8 x 52)
- Prominente (7 5/8 x 49)
- Robusto (4 7/8 x 50)
In addition, the Casa Magna Domus Magnus II will be offered with a slightly different wrapper as first mentioned by Cigar Brief, although it’s once again Jalapa Sun Grown this time from the 2007 crop. Only the two original sizes are being offered the Optimus (5 3/4 x 52) and Primus (6 1/2 x 55).
Finally, a new Casa Magna Colorado Box-Pressed line will debut in three initial sizes:
- Gordo Real (6 1/4 x 60)
- Short Robusto (4 1/4 x 54)
- Toro (6 x 50)
Terence Reilly of SAG Imports confirmed to halfwheel that there are no other planned IPCPR releases for the company.
