Reinado’s plans for a Connecticut-wrapped cigar have taken shape. Two sizes of the Reinado Grand Empire Reserve Connecticut will head to ships in April 2014: a 5 x 55 box-pressed vitola known as Elegidos and a 7 x 50 Churchill. The blend uses the Nicaraguan fillers from the original Grand Empire Reserve line with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper.

Reinado debuted the Grand Empire Reserve in a single 5 x 55 Elegidos vitola in 2012, before adding three additional vitolas with a fifth size still coming. Reinado founder Antonio Lam has said the packaging for the GER Connecticut might be different, although they will be 10-count boxes, the quantity used for the new Grand Empire Reserve sizes. Lam said pricing was still being determined.
