Rocky Patel has announced a collaborative project with Ray Lewis that will result in the third installment in the company’s Legend Series cigar line.
The Rocky Patel Legends 52 Ray Lewis will be available only in a 6 1/2 x 52 Toro vitola and come packed in 10-count boxes. MSRP is $11.50 per cigar and $115.00 per box.
The company describes it as flavorful and complex with a medium to full body. The core is spicy with a sweet earthy flavor and offers a long, full finish with notes of espresso and dark chocolate. The binder and filler for the cigar come from Nicaragua, while the wrapper is a Habano Oscuro from an unspecified country. It is being made at the TAVICUSA Factory in Nicaragua.
Lewis played 17 years in the NFL, making 13 trips to the Pro Bowl and was the first linebacker on a winning Super Bowl team to be named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
The Rocky Patel Legends 52 Ray Lewis will ship to retailers on October 15, 2013. Last year, Rocky Patel launched the HR500, which was blended for former Major League Baseball player Gary Sheffield. The company has also released a cigar for hockey legend Bernie Parent, though distribution was focused primarily on Philadelphia and the northeastern United States.
Update (July 19, 2013): Not so fast.
