Hawaii’s R. Field Wine Co. is the latest recipient of a RoMa Craft Tobaco exclusive release, this time the CroMagnon Venus. This follows releases for Podman Cigars, Riverside Cigar Shop and an exclusive release for the DC Cigar Tweet-Up. The CroMagnon Venus is a 6 1/2 x 56 Petite Salamone that will be released in boxes of 10 with pricing set at $10.00 per cigar.

CroMagnon Venus

Skip Martin told halfwheel that the release is “four months” away, meaning an expected release sometime in June. The Venus name was explained on RoMa Craft Tobac’s Facebook:

These fertility figurines are thought to have been at the center of a Cro-Magnon religious fertility practice. It is evidence of the culture that differentiates Cro-Magnon as Early Modern Humans from the more primitive Neanderthals.

R. Field Wine Co. is best known to mainland cigar smokers for another exclusive it received, the Tatuaje T110. While the price of the cigar is $10.00 because of Hawaiian taxes, which are 50 percent of the wholesale price, the price will be $12.50 per cigar for R. Field Wine Co.’s Hawaiian customers, while $10.00 for all out-of-state orders.

Like most of the recently-announced non-national releases from RoMa Craft Tobac, Martin has left the door open for a larger and national release for the Venus.

Update (February 24, 2013): An earlier version of this story quoted Martin as listing the price as $15.00, R. Field Wine Co. has indicated this is not the actual price.
