Given the State of the Brand: Padilla feature, I sort of wondered where Padilla sat with the host of new releases he had planned on having this year. Padilla gave some lofty release dates, many of which have come and gone, but that’s nothing but common practice for this industry. Well, today the confirmation from Ernesto of his show plans, after the jump.
And the big news from Padilla, the rebrand. All lines will be receiving new artwork and packaging, including his new logo.
Padilla 8 & 11
All the info is here. Friend of the site, and all around good person, Charmed Leaf has pre-orders available. If you are looking for original boxes, I believe site sponsor Tobacco Locker still has Robustos, I would check with Bill before purchasing though. Bill also has original 1932s available in: Churchill, Lancero and Robusto. If the new ones are anything like the old ones, well, someone has a winner. Artwork is supposed to be just like the 2005 release.
Padilla Artemis Originally announced at last year’s IPCPR, the box-pressed Aganorsa leaf is now ready. These are of course, a product of Raíces Cubanas.
Padilla La Terraza
It’s the full launch of this brand, which has received some stellar reviews from those that have gotten their hands on them. Here’s what I said back in February:
Ernesto told me that the he sees a large growth in the sub $5 market with demands for quality cigars, as such, he created a cigar named after a beach in Cuba where Hemingway took his boat. (There’s actually a good story here.) These will be offered in boxes of twenty in both Habano and Maduro with the price points around $4.50.
Padilla/Studio Tobac Figuardo
The blend is in and the cigars are floating around in test format. It’s a limited release slated for 1,000 boxes of 10 at $14 a stick. These are made at Oliva, who formerly worked with Ernesto on the now discontinued Padilla Habano. This is the first “joint venture” for Studio Tobac and I believe the most expensive cigar Oliva has made to date.
Notably absent is the Padilla Legacies and the Cazadores Maduro, so for now we wait. — el niño diablo.
