Oliva’s newest Serie V limited edition will be much like many of the company’s other limited releases, a Torpedo. David Wagner told Cigar Insider the Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro will be a 6 1/2 x 52 Box-Pressed Torpedo with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. We broke news of the cigar last December and two weeks ago reported the cigar would be delayed until the 2013 IPCPR trade show and convention in mid-July.
Wagner also indicated the cigar would carry a suggested price around $13.00 per cigar and come in boxes of 10. The size, expected price point and box-count are all identical to the regular Serie V Melanio Torpedo.
Oliva introduced the regular Melanio at IPCPR 2012 in Orlando, Fla., as an extension to the company’s popular Serie V line. A total of 10,000 boxes will be offered for sale double what the company intended for the originally-planned Father’s Day release.
Wagner also said the company plans the Melanio Maduro, like the Serie V Maduro, to be an annual release.
