Mineral County, W.Va. Smoking Ban Now Set for January 2

Null

Last week, the Mineral County Board of Health set the compliance date for the West Virgnia county’s smoking ban to January 2. While the law went into effect on October 1, County Commissioner Jerry Whisner requested an extension so business could come into compliance.

Extensions are not uncommon, although as is normally the case, the Board of Health has no plans to reverse its decision over the actual law. Under the new regulations, smoking is banned indoors, but businesses are required to have an outdoor smoking area 15 feet from an entrance and ventilation area.
