Oliva’s recently-announced Viejo Mundo will be offered stateside exclusively through Meier & Dutch/Cigars International. A representative from the company confirmed to halfwheel the company would have exclusive rights to the cigar for around a year, until IPCPR 2014. The machine-made “dry cigar” is expected to be offered for sale in around month by the Pennsylvania-based retail giant.

The company showed off the cigar at last September’s Inter-tabac festival in Dortmund, Germany, but it wasn’t until this month Oliva announced plans to sell the cigar. It will head to Germany, the Netherlands Poland and Switzerland this month before expanding to the U.K., U.S. and other markets.
