Willy Herrera’s Lancero has gotten a bit longer and a bit more official. While Herrera had been testing s 6 3/4 x 38 Petit Lancero, Herrera told Cigar Insider that the production size of the Herrera Esteli Lancero will be 7 1/2 x 38, sans pigtail.

This is the first expansion to the Herrera Esteli brand, which soft-launched last November. Earlier today, it was confirmed that the brand would be receiving new bands in the future.

The cigar was expected to be much more selective than the regular line. Herrera told Cigar Insider that he plans on having it in a limited amount of shops and indicated he knew it would not be successful at every account due to the vitola.

According to the report, Herrera hopes to have the cigar out by January or February. Sources at the company described the January/February target as highly optimistic.

This is one of two known Herrera Esteli expansions coming. The company is expected to release a maduro line blended by Willy Herrera in the future.
