Habanos S.A. Announces 2013 Edición Limitadas

A message board post seems to have provided the unofficial announcement as to the 2013 Edición Limitadas from Habanos, S.A.

The post cites an online catalog posted by Diadema S.p.A., the official Habanos S.A. distributor for Italy, Vatican City and St. Marino. On page six of that catalog, you can see a listing for “Edizioni Limitate 2013,” under which is listed the following three cigars:

  • Romeo y Julieta de Luxe – 10 count boxes – 6 3/8 x 52 – €15
  • Hoyo de Monterrey Grand Epicure – 10 count boxes –  5 1/9 x x 55 – €14
  • Punch Serie d’Oro No.2 – 25 count boxes – 5 1/2 x 52 – €12

The post was brought to light by Manuel Fröhlich, who posted a story about the addition on his website. He goes on to note some other changes that seem to be coming to the Habanos S.A. portfolio in 2013.

Also being added for 2013 is the Partagás Lusitania Gran Reserva, which measures approximately 7 x 49 and comes with a price of €42 per cigar or €630 for a box of 15. A new Montecristo Double Edmundo also appears in the catalog, with a measurement of 6 1/10 x 55 and a price of €14.30. It will be available in three-packs and boxes of 10 and 25.

With the note that Diadema S.p.A. might not be importing the entire available catalog, Fröhlich also noted the shrinkage of the Punch and San Cristóbal marcas., a site that tracks the history of Cuban cigars, lists the three Edición Limitadas as well as the Partagás Gran Reserva, though there is no mention of the Montecristo Double Edmundo.

About the author

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for, plus I'm a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
