Gurkha Cigar Group Inc. is at the least the third cigar company in Broward County to have its warehouse burglarized this year. The company’s warehouse in Tamarac, Fla. was burglarized last week with records from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office indicating the incident took place on December 5.

While the company declined to comment to halfwheel about the break-in, it sent out a letter to retailers indicating that “Triads, (His Majesty Reserves), and other high value cigars” were amongst what was taken. The company also announced that it is offering a $10,000 reward to assist in catching those responsible.

In September, Alec Bradley announced $300,000 worth of product had been taken from its Hollywood, Fla. warehouse. Florida Distributors Inc., also based Tamarac, was burglarized in July with an estimated $250,000 worth of product stolen. The Broward County Sheriff’s department was called to the warehouse again last month where one suspect was apprehended allegedly attempting to break into the warehouse.

Alec Bradley publicly stated it believed the cigars were being moved to the northeast where the perpetrators would try to resell the cigars to retailers. While the letter Gurkha sent to retailers did not specify a region, it did indicate it expects the cigars to be offered to retailers.
