Federal Cigar Celebrating 92nd Anniversary with E.P. Carrillo
Federal Cigar in southeast New Hampshire has announced an upcoming limited edition release that will celebrate the store’s 92nd anniversary.
The Federal Cigar 92nd Anniversary EPC Medalla D’ Oro is slated to be released in early March and will be limited to 500 ten-count boxes that will sell for $85 each. Rick Gadway, owner of Federal Cigar, said that the cigars were just rolled about two weeks ago and are currently resting at E.P. Carrillo’s Tabacalera La Alianza, S.A. in the Dominican Republic.
Gadway said the blend will be similar to E.P. Carrillo’s 2012 Short Run, but with a bit more ligero. The cigar will use an Ecuadoran Connecticut wrapper, Connecticut Broadleaf binder and filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, and as you can see in the photo below, comes with a secondary band that says Short Run. The cigar will be available in one size – a 6 1/2 x 44 parejo. When they arrive at the store, they will carry a price tag of $85 per box, and will be available for sale via Federal Cigar’s website.

E.P. Carrillo made the 2010 Short Run No. 4 for Federal Cigar’s 90th anniversary, and the store has also celebrated anniversaries with cigars from My Father and Tatuaje, including the My Father Federal Le Bijou Connecticut Edition Petit Robusto, the My Father Le Bijou 1922 Federal Cigar 91st Cervantes in both Connecticut and Maduro, the Tatuaje Federal Cigar 90th Anniversary 109 Reserva and the Tatuaje Federal Cigar 90th Anniversary 109 Rosado.
