Erik Espinosa, head of Espinosa Premium Cigars, said he is nearing the shipping of his company’s debut release, which is offered in both an Ecuadorian Connecticut and Nicaraguan Habano wrapper. Espinosa says he expects to start shipping to retailers shortly and already has orders he needs to fulfill.
Espinosa debuted a single size of the Nicaraguan Habano on May 23, when the company had its official launch. The line, which he now confirms is a Nicaraguan puro, will be offered in a Robusto (5 x 52) and the Toro (5 1/2 x 52) that was given out at the release party. In addition, Espinosa has a Connecticut line featuring a variety of Nicaraguan fillers and an Ecuadorian wrapper that he describes as lighter than the Habano. Both cigars are manufactured at Espinosa’s new factory in Estelí, Nicaragua—La Zona.
Amidst the news last week that Rocky Patel was ending distribution with EO Brands, Espinosa also confirmed he was no longer a sales representative for Rocky Patel Cigars, a position he held for numerous years.
