Chesapeake Cigar Company Gets Exclusive La Aurora 107

Chesapeake Cigar Company in Edgewater, Md. has announced that they will soon be receiving a store exclusive size of the La Aurora 107, an 8 x 60 vitola called the Reverend Mike.

The cigar is named for the store’s owner, Mike Lohsl, and will be officially released on his birthday, March 18. There will also be a sneak peak of the cigar at the DC Cigar Tweetup on Saturday, March 16.

According to the store’s website, the blend for the cigar remains the same as the rest of the line: a Ecuadoran sun-grown wrapper, Dominican binder and filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. A video of the cigar being rolled can be seen here.

The store cites their support of several previous La Aurora projects and sales volume as the reason they were chosen to receive this cigar.

About the author

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for, plus I'm a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
