Casa Fernandez has finalized plans for both of its 2013 IPCPR releases: the 35th Anniversary and Reserva Maduro. We first broke the news about the releases in April, but company President Paul Palmer was still finalizing details for both releases at the time.

Palmer told halfwheel the Casa Fernandez 35th Anniversary is completed. It remains box-pressed, but the size is 6 x 54, slightly shorter than originally thought, and pricing is $12.50, noticeably less than the $14.00 price tag company thought it would be in April. There will still be 2,000 boxes of 10 cigars made at the U.S.-based Casa Fernandez Miami Factory, each signed by Palmer and company owner Eduardo Fernández.

While Fernández has only owned the company since 2002, Pedro Martín founded Tabacalera Tropical—the former name of Casa Fernandez—in 1978.

In addition, the company will be unveiling its Casa Fernandez Reserva Maduro at the mid-July trade show in Las Vegas, Nev. Like the rest of the company’s Maduros, it will use a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over AGANORSA-grown Nicaraguan fillers. There will be three sizes: 6 x 54, 6 x 60 and 5 x 46—all priced under $10.00.

It was originally believed the cigars would be box-pressed, however, the company opted not to box-press this release in order to avoid confusion with the Casa Fernandez-Miami AGANORSA Leaf Maduro Box-Pressed, which was introduced at last year’s trade show.

Elsewhere, Palmer told halfwheel the company is returning to its rolling events, something it one made popular with José “Don Pepín” García in the early half of the last decade.

Update: An original version of this story referred to the 35th Anniversary as a Double Torpedo, Casa Fernandez indicates that it is box-pressed with a round head.
